This overview helps you find your way. Read the complete instructions above and follow the personal guidance from your surgical team.

Food, drink, and medicines

The published guide requires no food or drink for eight hours before surgery. It instructs patients to take prescribed morning medicines with sips of water; confirm your individual medicine plan with the office.

Your ride and support

A responsible adult must come with you, stay at the office, drive you home, and supervise you for 24 hours afterward.

Prepare before arrival

Arrive at least 10 minutes early. Wear comfortable clothing and a short-sleeved shirt; remove makeup, nail polish, and jewelry. Avoid flip-flops and slippers. Brush your teeth.

Plan your recovery

The guide requires no smoking for 12 hours or alcohol for 24 hours beforehand. Report cold or flu-like symptoms. Plan 48–72 hours away from work or school and read the driving restrictions in the complete guide.
