YOUR GUIDE

Specific to this procedure.

YOUR PLAN

Follow your personal instructions.

YOUR TEAM

Call if something is unclear.

This overview helps you find your way. Read the complete instructions above and follow the personal guidance from your surgical team.

A different cleaning timeline

This guide applies to patients taking blood thinners or told to stop them before surgery. It specifies no mouth rinsing or spitting for 48 hours, followed by gentle cleaning without vigorous rinsing.

Bleeding and rest

Use direct gauze pressure as described, keep activity low, and contact your Walsh office if bleeding remains concerning. Review the guide’s diet, hydration, and activity restrictions.

Coordinate your medicines

If you take warfarin or Coumadin and receive antibiotics, contact your cardiologist or anticoagulation clinic for instructions. Do not change your blood-thinner treatment yourself.
