YOUR GUIDE

Specific to this procedure.

YOUR PLAN

Follow your personal instructions.

YOUR TEAM

Call if something is unclear.

This overview helps you find your way. Read the complete instructions above and follow the personal guidance from your surgical team.

Protect your graft

Avoid disturbing the wound on surgery day. The collagen plug or membrane protects the graft; call if it dislodges during the first day and graft material seems to come out.

Keep the area clean

After 24 hours, begin light rinsing as instructed. Avoid brushing the graft and adjacent teeth for the first seven days, and avoid vigorous rinsing for 72 hours.

Food and removable teeth

Use liquids and purees for 24 hours, then soft foods for the first week. Removable dentures or flippers must not touch the graft site.

When to contact the team

Call about rapid swelling, an opening at the site, drainage, or a bad taste after day three. Follow the prescribed antibiotic course and recovery plan.
